Need for collaboration

The new draft EU Horizon Europe has a research and innovation (RIA) action entitled "Controlling infection on large passenger ships" (Topic HORIZON-CL5-2021-D6-01-12). The expected results of this action are given below:

For our third ARCSAR Innovation and Knowledge Exchange event we will be concentrating on innovations in training and education.

Many communities have good capabilities for local emergency response and have organized volunteers with local knowledge and valuable competence from various professions. There is a need to identify best practices of utilizing the voluntary and industry resources in the best possible way and to their optimal capacity.

There is a challenge for enhanced liaison with hospitals for emergency incident planning. This challenge can be also categorised under Pollution and Incident Control.

There is a challenge for enhanced sharing of results of ongoing SAR projects within ANA SAR community.

There is a need for enhanced involvement of indigenous partners in SAR activities.

There is a need for collaboration between satellite stakeholders to ensure maximal coverage and emergency preparedness and protection against cyber-threats.

There is a challenge for collaborating, between ANA lifesaving stakeholders, on how to meet the “5 day” requirement of the IMO Polar Code.
